The ISO image burns just fine, but it doesn't appear to be bootable at boot, it just hangs for a few seconds and then proceeds to booting from the hard disc.

I read the help files, and apparantly the program CAN burn a bootable disc - though I'm pretty sure I read on some internet searches that the Basic Edition cannot burn a bootable disc. Moreover, when selecting the bootable disc option in Roxio, it gives me a choice of using Floppy Emulation, Hard Disc Emulation, or no Emulation.

None of these work. Has anyone been able to burn a bootable disc using Roxio? Also, while searching the internet help, I read that you can easily tell if the image was burned as a bootable disc by reading the contents of the disc right after burning.

It sounds like you burned a Data Disc project. You need to be using the function to burn a Disc Image. If you open upthe main app, on the left should be a Data or Data-Copy section you can select. In that section look for something labeled Burn Disc Image and choose that and see if it works. Dell Creator DE doesn't have the ability to burn an image to disc. It's one of the useful things which was cut off by agreement with Dell.
